Parenting Workshop December 8
Parenting Children with Behavior Challenges
It’s far better to prevent behavioral incidents than to manage them. That’s why the Ball-Chatham School District is hosting a workshop from 6 to 7 p.m., December 8 at Glenwood Elementary School, to help give parents the tools they need that will encourage behavior patterns that are positive and safe - the same strategies that are used at our schools. These include a non-invasive approach and interaction strategies, ways to create a safe environment, and self-management skills. Plan to attend this free training led by Katherine Docter, SSP, BCBA, Specialist in School Psychology, and Board Certified Behavior Specialist.

RSVP by December 7 to: community@chathamschools.orgLet us know the number of attendees and the number of children needing childcare.

Trekkers or Trotters

Hundreds of men, women, and children ran or walked in the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation’s 7th Annual Titan Trek 5k Run/Walk, and one-mile Titan Trot event, held this past weekend at Glenwood High School. Thanks to all of the sponsors and participants for their support of this fantastic event. Special thanks to R.W. Troxell and Harold O’Shea Builders for being the event's major sponsors! Monies raised will help fund technology in our schools, innovative educational programs, and teacher grants. Timing results from the race can be found at http://www.timingiseverything.com/
Titan Superheroes

Superheroes Spotted Throughout District!
Now in its second year at Glenwood Elementary School, 37 fourth grade boys took part in the leadership program, Titan Superheroes the week of November 3. The program is expanding throughout the district, and will be held Dec. 1-5 at Chatham Elementary; Dec. 8-12 at Ball Elementary, and in the spring at GIS. Superheroes is the brainchild of Glenwood High School senior, Eli Day. With help from his mom, Crystal Day, a fourth grade teacher at GES, and PE teacher, Pam Hogan, Superheroes was developed to teach boys how to become better leaders and better people. It includes a physical activity, team building exercises and an education component. In addition to Eli, other high school students helping lead the younger students are: Sam Anderson, Cole Harper, Max Day, and Drew Parriott.

Many thanks to our sponsors! (click for listing) Without their support, far fewer students would be able to participate.
